Have A Go Climb Quest

Welcoming new climbers to ‘Have A Go’ at Climb Quest

On Friday 7th May 2021, we welcomed climbers to four ‘Have A Go’ sessions at Climb Quest Milton Keynes.  The sessions, for children and adults with additional needs, were hosted for free so those who haven’t tried climbing at Climb Quest could come and have an introduction to our walls.  Over the four sessions, we welcomed 38 climbers.

At Climb Quest, we share an ethos around inclusion for all, supporting groups and individuals to challenge themselves, and promoting healthy lifestyle activities. We try and support as many people as possible climbing through our regular events, work with charities and groups, and through 1:1 activities.

The four ‘Have A Go’ sessions were led by our Centre Manager, Sam and Climbing Manager, Paul.  We had our climbing hoist set up on two of our walls, to give support to climbers who needed some support climbing the walls.

It was great to see so many new faces in the centre and meeting new families.

Climb Quest works with organisations, schools and individuals to offer regular Autism-friendly and SEND sessions.  We are currently working with Spectrum and Macintyre, two charities that support those with Autism and learning disabilities, as well as running a monthly public SEND session on the 1st Sunday of each month.

A big thanks to the responders to our survey that was sent out after the ‘Have A Go’ session.  We’re always working on offering new SEND sessions, and making our centre as accessible as possible, so your feedback has been great.

Our next ‘Have A Go’ sessions will be publicised on our Autism-friendly and SEND webpage, as well as on social media (including our SEND Facebook Group).
