This Easter, Climb Quest Milton Keynes ran another HAF (Holiday Activities and Food), funded by Milton Keynes City Council. Across 4 sessions, over 100 SEND climbers enjoyed a 4-hour experience packed with action.
Climbers had the opportunity to enjoy a total of 2 hours on the climbing arena, exploring 25 climbing walls and 2 Extreme Challenges. During this time, climbers could scale up the difficulty levels, interact with different shapes and obstacles and improve their climbing skills. In addition to the climbing, climbers engaged with table-based activities such as designing their own climbing wall, wordsearches and Easter colouring activities which were a big hit. They also had the opportunity to get involved with some mini games including obstacle courses, ball games and hula-hooping led by our instructors on the mezzanine.
Within the 4 hours, there were 2 set times for food. The first one entailed a light snack, fruit and biscuits, and the second offered a freshly prepared buffet including pizza, crisps and veg with unlimited drinks. All attendees were entitled to benefit-related free-school meals, so it was extremely important for our team to ensure they had a nutritious and filling meal through the School holidays to relieve any stress families may be facing.
As always, HAF is an extremely fulfilling day for our team knowing we can offer an activity children may not usually be able to take part in. Throughout the experience, we witness confidence grow and friendships being made and we look forward to supporting the programme further.
