Ten young people from MK Scouts took on a mountain climbing challenge with a difference here at Climb Quest Milton Keynes. The challenge was to help raise funds for an epic adventure across Europe this summer, called the Bucks Grand Tour. This trip is set to begin in the UK working their way up through Scandinavia as far as the northern lights and then back down through Sweden, Latvia, Poland, Czech Republic to name just a few places.
Climb Quest were thrilled to host one of their fund-raising challenges to climb the equivalent height of Mount Snowdon, which sits at a dizzying 1,085 metres. With over 20 different climbing walls to scale at Climb Quest, the scouts could choose easier routes on walls such Big Cheese and Twister, or the toughest way to the top on walls like Orbital and Triffid.
Chris Walthew of Climb Quest said “We were so impressed by their agility and determination, not only did they climb the equivalent height of Mount Snowdon, they climbed the height of Mount Snowdon, Scarfell Pike and Ben Nevis combined, technically completing the Three Peaks Challenge right here in Milton Keynes!”With over £3,000 raised from the challenge so far, MK Scouts have climbed their way to Europe!Climbing is the ultimate fun and healthy activity for you to enjoy with your friends, family or group.
