To mark Mental Health Awareness week, we felt it was important here at Climb Quest to highlight how our climbing centre offers a fun filled activity which promotes mental wellbeing. As with many sporting activities and general exercise, climbing offers a range of benefits for both children and adults.
Taking part in a form of physical activity has always been recognised as a powerful tool to release stress. Indoor climbing combines the use of your body and mind, by requiring problem solving and focus, whilst navigating the different routes of the walls we have on offer. By trying new things, you can overcome your fears and potentially reach the top which will produce a feeling of accomplishment, making you feel proud and boost self-esteem.
There are numerous skills that come within climbing, which are particularly useful for children who are developing, but can be equally as useful for adults to expand their skillset. Climb Quest provides a safe and controlled environment which encourages risk taking, teamwork and social interaction, and conquering our walls comes with courage, perseverance and determination which are transferable into daily life. In addition to the skill element, which can benefit mental health, there is also the opportunity to give yourself a break from monotonous daily life and routine. The hour offers you the opportunity to switch off and immerse yourself in your surroundings.
Climb Quest is a fantastic opportunity to improve your mental wellbeing, with no experience required and a range of sessions for a variety of ages and profiles to best suit individual needs. It is a fun twist on traditional climbing with the vibrant walls and various shapes. Our sessions are beginner friendly with an in-depth safety briefing, followed by support from our instructors should you need guidance, tips or encouragement. Whether you are looking for your child to build their confidence and distract them from the technological world, or an adult seeking stress relief and an effective activity to benefit both your physical and mental health, consider us as your next step during mental health week.
