The Kingston Centre in Milton Keynes will welcome its newest tenant on 8th February, with the launch of climbing centre, Climb Quest. Owned by an award-winning, family-run, independent company, that has already had success with Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge, Climb Quest will bring a unique visitor experience to the many visitors to the retailers already at the Kingston Centre.
Chris Walthew, one of the owners of Climb Quest, says
‘The beauty of Climb Quest is that the experience is open to everyone. The equipment that we have at the centre means that climbing is easy to access, so climbers can challenge themselves as much as they would like.
We’re really excited to be bringing this experience to Milton Keynes’.Climb Quest has 28 climbing challenges, including two Extreme Challenges: a Vertical Drop Slide and the Stairway to Heaven, a series of poles that climbers ascend without using their hands. All the climbing equipment is supplied by Entre-prises, the world’s largest climbing wall manufacturer.
Specialist sessions that will be run on a regular basis include sessions for those with additional needs, weekly sessions for 2-4 year olds, as well an exclusive sessions for schools, groups of home educators, youth groups and companies. Climb Quest’s chosen charity is Spectrum, a charity that provides events and support for families of children with Autism, additional needs, learning difficulties and disabilities.
Spectrum will run sessions for their members at the centre.
Richard Crowther, Leasing Director, British Land said:
‘Climb Quest is a fantastic addition to the Kingston Centre. High quality leisure facilities play an increasingly important role within our retail portfolio and a new climbing centre will not only broaden the centre’s appeal but improve the experience for our customers’.
Senior Relationship Manager at Lombard Ashley Hutchings said:
“It has been great to see owners Beth and Chris build their successful business over the last three years, with Lombard and NatWest having provided initial support and finance to get their Clip ‘n Climb business up and running with their first site in Cambridge. The latest funding package we’ve provided has enabled them to grow their business, scale-up and reach new heights, expanding into a new area to bring a popular attraction to Milton Keynes.”
Climb Quest’s official launch is on 8th February, with birthday parties and specialist sessions running from 29th February. The centre will be open from 9am on weekends and during school holidays, and from 11am during the week, with sessions running throughout the day, with the last session at 6.30pm. Bookings can be made on-line at www.climbquest.co.uk
